[[Jean Nicholas Ponsin]] (1801-1863) who was born in Reims, France was a schoolmaster and amateur magician. Ponsin wrote a book, which was published in 1853,, entitled [[Nouvelle Magie Blanche Dévoilée]]. His book was used by [[Prof. Hoffmann]], together with that of [[Robert-Houdin]], when collecting material for [[Modern Magic]].
