Biography
His first book, The Coney Island Fakir, a biography of sideshow magician Al Flosso, appeared in 1997. Brown wrote "Henry Slade And His Slates: From Europe To The Fourth Dimension," which appeared in Gibecière 23, Winter 2017, Volume 12, No. 1. This historical work on the Fourth Dimension led to his selection as the Distinguished Lecturer for the 2018 IBM National Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"Grand Illusions," a fifty-part series on the history of magic produced for The Discovery Channel and released on DVD, showcased Mr. Brown as an expert on the history of magic. Mr. Brown has also appeared as a commentator on A&E, NBC-TV, Court TV, Discovery Health and National Public Radio.
