Leonard Beck (1912-1998), an amateur magician, was a curator of Special Collections for the Library of Congress Rare Book Room.
Biography
Beck graduated from New York University and received a master's degree from Catholic University's School of Library Science. During World War II, he served in the Army in Europe.
He retired from the Library of Congress in 1986 after 41 years service. One of his responsibilities included the Houdini Collection.
He died of respiratory failure at Arlington Hospital.[1]
