MagicPedia follows the same policies and guidelines as Wikipedia's official policies.

The following are some we would like to point out specifically for here at MagicPedia.

Neutral point of view

Articles should be written from a Neutral Point of View, without too much hype. For more information see Wikipedia's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view

Civility

Being rude, insensitive or petty makes people upset and stops wikis from working well. Try to discourage others from being uncivil, and be careful to avoid offending people unintentionally. Mediation is available if needed. For more information see Wikipedia's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Civility

Edit warring

If someone challenges your edits, discuss it with them and seek a compromise, or seek dispute resolution. Don't just fight over competing views and versions. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Edit_war

Copyright

All material produced for MagicPedia is copyrighted by its contributors (numerous small edits don't affect copyright ownership by the original authors) except those articles noted on the page as being under Creative Commons License as required by articles using Wikipedia material.

All text published before June 5, 2011 on MagicPedia was released under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GNU_Free_Documentation_License.

You may use the page "history" to retrieve content published before that date to ensure GFDL compatibility.

Reusing MagicPedia content

To reuse, copy or create a derivative version of an individual article entails the following:

  • acknowledge the authorship of the article as MagicPedia and
  • provide access to the "transparent copy" of the material. (The "transparent copy" of an article is any of a number of formats available from us, including the wiki text, the html web pages, xml feed, etc.)

You can easily fulfill these obligations by providing a conspicuous direct link back to each and every original MagicPedia article hosted on this website.

Fair use materials and special requirements

Occasionally, MagicPedia articles may include images, sounds, or text quotes used under the U.S. Copyright law "fair use" doctrine.

Wikipedia exception

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org) is the only wiki granted exclusive pre-approved rights to import any individual (e.g. not bulk uploads) MagicPedia article, with proper attribution, thus making that article fall under Creative Commons license.

Anyone that believes a MagicPedia article is worthy and notable enough to be a Wikipedia entry, and be accepted by Wikpedia editors, is granted to use that article for creating an entry on Wikipedia. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability.
