Marcelo A. R. Contento was a magician, jazz drummer, and engineer from Argentina.

He started practicing magic at the age of eight, and by the age of eleven had taken up drumming. In his teenage years, he was mentored in magic by David Bamberg (who performed as Fu Manchu). Bamberg taught Contento the art of "Chinese Shadows" (Shadowgraphy).

Contento graduated College with the Argentine equivalent of a Master's in Electromechanical Engineering, and began working as an Engineer in companies around Buenos Aires. He later earned a scholarship to Boston's Berklee College of Music and then with his brother Victor he opened "Marcelo Contento Productions", manufacturing magic effects in Watertown, Massachusetts.

After being diagnosed with Stage 3 anaplastic astrocytoma, a very malignant kind of brain tumor, they closed their workshop in 2008. [1]

His effect "The Card Crystal" was published in Genii 1991 July.
