Michael Hatal (1869-1899) was a magician killed while performing the dangerous Bullet Catch Trick.[1]

Biography

Hatal was a cabinetmaker, living at No. 44 first avenue, and devoted much of his leisure to conjuring.

He billed himself "The Hungarian Herrmann" (in homage to Alexander Herrmann).

He was giving a performance at an Odd Fellows benefit in a hall at No. 197 East Fourth street, when he received the injury which cost him his life.[2]
