Michael Skinner (1941-1998) was a close-up magician that grew up in Rochester, New York and studied under Eddie Fechter from Buffalo.[1] He later moved to Hollywood and spent eight years at the Magic Castle studying with the Professor, Dai Vernon.

Biography

For over 20 years, he was the magician in residence at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Nevada.[2]

His vast repertoire once allowed him to perform 28 shows, in one week, at the Magic Castle without repeating a single effect.

Skinner made two guest appearances on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson.[3]

Skinner contributed to many magazines, including Genii. There was also a manuscript he wrote, titled Ten for Ten, which never materialized from would-be publisher Jeff Busby, who had the completed manuscript for about 25 years. It was to consist of 10 tricks for a cost of 10 dollars.[4]
