New Zealand Society of Magicians

New Zealand Society of Magicians was formed in June of 1920.[1][2]

The first magical society to be formed in New Zealand. Its headquarters began in Auckland. The first President was Keith W. Liddle, soon followed by Stirling C. Maxwell. Founding members include Oswald Ashton (the great great uncle of Alan Watson).

It's official publication, Te Tohunga, began publishing in 1922.

Their first convention was held in Auckland in December of 1930.[3]

It was put into recess in 1996 and officially dissolved in 2017.
