Oakland Magic Circle

Oakland Magic Circle was formed on Wednesday, July 29, 1925 by nine local magicians.[1]

The founding members were Professor El-Tab (Alfred Battle) (president), Ellis Gunther, Claude Burke, Judson Marshall, George Austini, Lloyd Jones, Robert Bailey, Francis Geske, and Alfred Lamb.

Other presidents over the years have been Fred Braue and Lloyd Jones.

Later members included Jimmy Muir, R.S. Glover, Christopher H. Charlton, William Alstrand, Claude Leaf, Marvin Burger.

Reports could be seen in the early years of Genii and the Linking Ring magazines.[2]

It later became a member of the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians.

In 2011 it was considered the oldest independent magic club in the United States west of the Mississippi.[3]
