L. E. Roba Collins (?-1965) was a professional tent-show magician and mentalist in the South.[1]

Biography

Known as The Great Roba, he was an outdoor showman, school show magician, an avid circus and carnival fan. He worked the Chatauqua circuit and the lyceum field

In 1943, he co-founded (with Ben Badley & Richard Durham) the St. Louis Society of Magicians.

Roba wrote a column for Tops and Linking Ring magazines covering outdoor magicians and related acts.

He settled in East St. Louis in 1953 and went to work for McDonnell Aircraft in the Tool and Die Shop.[2]
