Roni Shachnaey (1944-2017) specialized in mentalism and bizarre magick.

Biography

Originally from Tel Aviv, where he inspired a generation of Israeli mentalists, he was living in Scarborough, England for many years.

Shachnaey started his performance career as a musician and composer.

He was drafted into the Israeli Army for two years in 1963 and in 1967 was recalled to served in the Six-Day War.

In 1969 Shachnaey moved to England where he met his wife Laraine. On returning back to Israel in the Seventies, he founded The Israeli Society for Promoting the Art of Magic (I.S.P.A.M). After returning to England again with his family, hewas granted the title of “Grand President for life” by the Society.
