Samuel Sterns (1887-1971) performed as "Sterling The Magician" and "Carl Mysto" was the father of Duke Stern.[1]

Biography

He attended his first magic performance in 1894 and was presenting his own shows by 1901 at the Manchester Boarding School. He would tour England as "Sterling the Boy Magician" from 1904 until moving to America in 1906. He also toured Scotland, Ireland and Wales doing his magic and Escape Act In America he described himself as "the undefeated Champion Lover of the Magic Art and its Exponents."

Sterns joined the I.B.M. in 1928 (member no. 2150) and many years he served as co-chair of the Sick and Convalescent Committee.

For a time he lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but later moved to White Rock, New Mexico.[2][3]
