Six Card Repeat is a card effect created for the stage by Tommy Tucker in which the performer shows six cards; throws three away and yet still has six cards when counted. It's repeated several times to humorous effect.

Tommy Tucker invented it in the 1920's and it first appeared in print in Charles Eastman's Expert Manipulative Magic in 1936.

It became a pet effect for Sid Lorraine, Charles Brush (Baffles) (who simplified it by introducing pockets on the cards), Blackstone Sr., and Clarke Crandall.

There are many version now, some sleight of hand, some with specially prepared cards.
