Society of Modern Mystics

Society of Modern Mystics was a formed on June 17, 1917 in New York City by Charles I. Becker, who was elected the first president.

Original members included Thomoas J. Cronin (Tomystic), David G. Jenny, Charles J. Diestel, M. Frank and Maurice Bliss.

It was open to all amateur and professional magicians throughout the United States and was founded to protect and further the Magic art.[1]

It was quickly voted to be affiliated with the National Conjurers Association as Local No. 4 and Nathaniel Schneider was elected as president.[2]

Reports appear until 1918 in Eagle Magician, Magic Key, Magic World and Sphinx.
