When was John actually born? My recollection is that John was 21 when he died. That would put his year of birth at around 1947.

It was reported that he was in his thirties in "Around Chicago With Frances" by Frances Ireland Marshall in the Linking Ring, April 1968, Vol 48, No 4, page 51: "We were extremely sorry lo learn from a letter from Harvey Rosenthal that John Benzais, one time clerk for Tannon, magazine contributor, and lately author of "The Best of Benzais" died last week. Only in his early thirties, his tragic death was the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Pennsylvania about two weeks ago."
