W. Fred. Heaman (?-1960), a magician, was a business manager and press agent for Lesta.[1]

Biography

Heaman was out performing on the road as a magician by 1920. He joined Tabloid show in Flint, Michigan and travelled all over the Midwest states doing magic specialties.

Heaman was in the wings of the Garrick Theater during Houdini's last show.

He would return to Canada to do advance work for magicians, and in 1940 signed up with Joe Ovette for whom he worked exclusively for a year.

A friend of Harry Blackstone, he built several illusions that were used in Blackstone's shows.

By the 1950s, he was owner of his own business known as Heaman Enterprises, specializing in commercial advertising signs, located in Scarboro Junction just outside Toronto.

Heaman was an early member of the I.B.M. (No. 509) and contributed quite regularly to The Linking Ring.[2] He served as President of I.B.M. Ring No. 17 in Toronto, Canada (1946-47).[3][4]
