Walter Coleman (1904-1983) was a past International President of the I.B.M. (1950-51) and was named an Honorary Member in 1963.
Biography
Coleman became interested in magic as a kid after his grandfather, George Dixon Hendricks, a semi-professional magician, showed him a few tricks. He would become proficient enough to performed at local clubs, churches, and other organizations. At one time, he was associated with the Conjuror's Shop in New York City providing magic classes.
By profession, Coleman was an executive with the New York Stock Exchange.
Coleman held I.B.M. No. 6313 starting in 1938 and was a member of it's Order of Merlin. A founding member of the New York City I.B.M Ring 26, he was also a member of the S.A.M. and served as president of the Parent Assembly in New York. He was given an honorary membership in the Swedish Magic Circle.
He moved to Sun City, Arizona after retirement.[1]
