Willard Warmkessel (1900-1966), worked around the United States as "Willard the Great" and "Willard the Magician" on the fair circuit.[1]
Biography
He became interested in magic as the age of 14 while working as an usher at the Lyric Theatre in Allentown. He gave his first performance when he was 16, at a benefit show for the ushers at the theater.
Warmkessel had operated the American Letterhead & Envelope Co. in Allentown for 38 years, before devoting all his time to magic in 1948. He had shows on the road with as many as 15 assistants.
He had also been a member of the I.B.M. Allentown Ring for many years.[2]
