Card magic is the most popular type of close-up magic. More people do card magic, and more card tricks are created, than any other type of close-up magic. Many speculate this has to do with the possibilities inherent in the 52 cards in a deck and, while this contributes to its popularity, it also has to do with the fact that there are many simple sleights that can be done with playing cards.
