Perhaps the first description in Hugard's Magic Monthly, Vol. 14, N° 6, november, 1956, page 502 under the trick "The All Fair Coincidence" by Balducci and Krenzel.
But in Marlo Meets his Match (1959), page 18, we can read : "The work of this routine... was inspired by the use of a well known Cut Force as applied to a Do As I Do routine by Balducci and Krenzel..."

There is a description of this force in Hugard's Magic Monthly, Vol. 6, N° 8, january 1949, page 501 in Roundabout with Fred Braue under the trick Little Card Rise, but not attributed to Balducci.
