Charles Edgar Silber was born on July 18, 1896 in Cincinnati, Ohio. For numerology reasons he changed the spelling of his last name to SYLBER.  He began his Show Business career in 1909 at the age of 13 playing The Duck in Gus Edward's "School Days"  He became a musical comedy star in the 1920's playing leading roles in "Rio Rita" and "Makin' Whoopie" in Australia.  While in Australia he became close friends with Charles Kingsford Smith, Australia's Charle's Lindbergh.  Charley invented "Charles Out Of My Hat" and operated The Magic House of Charles on Hollywood Boulevard before moving his magic shop to the Mission Inn in Riverside, California.  Charley was married to [[vaudeville]] star May Elizabeth Daily with whom he had one son, Charles Kingsford Sylber.  May passed away and Charley married Pam Batchelder with whom he had daughter, Cappi. Out of My Hat was a routine with a rabbit puppet in a hat. Effect: A card is selected, placed in deck and dropped into a felt hat. When you call for your assistant, up comes a bunny you from the hat with the selected card.
