Biography
He joined the 14th New York State Militia during the Civil War. He was captured and held prisoner in Richmond Virginia for a long time. After the war he used the billing, "Returned Prisoner of War from Richmond, with his Most Charming Experiments in Magic and Ventriloquism".[1]
