Ken Allen (b.1928-d.2009) was a professional performer and magic dealer (Ken Allen Products) in New Jersey.

Biography

Allen worked as a pitchman on a carnival, an acrobatic and comedy diver, and did acrobatic waltzing and tap dancing. Allen became interested in magic in 1943 when dancing on a show on which Al Minder was working.[1]

He created the Soo-Zee fanning powder application tool, Chinatown Quarter, Jumping Gems, Monkey-Bar, Robot Coins, and Solid Brass Locket Release. He marketed Carl Wolf's Lock of Gibraltar.

In the 1940's Allen and Jim Reneaux ran a branch of the Abbott Magic Company in New York City.

He edited Allen's Attic 1954-62 (24 issues).

He later retired to Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.[2][3][4]
