Most of the effects were by Tucker, some pen names such as Pen Tell, Nick Fountain and Mark Erpen.  There were also contributions from [[Phil Goldstein]] (Max Maven), [[John Carney]], [[Aldo Colombini]], [[Wayne Dobson]], [[David Britland]] and [[Bill Miesel]].

Chicanery was a close-up orientated magic magazine by Stephen Tucker (a successor to his Spell-Binder).

A complete file consists of two volumes from June 1986 to March 1988.
