C. Verne Bloch (1913-1991), a reporter for the Peoria Journal Star newspaper and amateur magician, was an associate editor of The Linking Ring.

He was raised in Peoria, Illinois and organized it's first magic club, which later became the IBM Nicola Ring #48. A magic enthusiast, he did an act with a small road show which played around Illinois where he met and became friends with many other amateur, semi-professional and professional magicians.[1]

He died January 30, 1991 in Peoria, Illinois.[2][3][4]
