Jerard K. Hartman Sr. is an investment manager by profession. He lives in a small suburb of New York City. Hartman got started in magic when his father's assistant showed him some basic card stuff. He remembers seeing Gali Gali and Cardini perform as a child in New York City.
He has contributed card routines to many magazines, including two Linking Ring Parades and his first published trick Underturn was by Karl Fulves in Epilogue no. 7, November 1969.
