Carlyle (1906-1996) performed his stage act around the United States in auditoriums, hotels and supper clubs throughout the Depression.

He worked numerous odd jobs and served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy before becoming a professional performer in the late 1920's, using the stage name Carlyle.
He retired from performing in 1954, settling down to raise his kids, operating a successful camera repairing business in Oakland, California.
His wife and assistant, Wanda, was a past officer of the International Magigals. She passed away in 1982.
Carlyle invented the Three-To-One Ropes routine and contributed many effects to Genii and Hugard's Magic Monthly.
Carlyle was eulogized at his funeral on October 30th, 1966 by his longtime friend Lee Grabel.[1][2][3]
