Frederic La Delle (b.1866-d.1941) had a career as a circus performer, magician and vaudeville performer.[1]
Biography
La Delle did an act in which he manipulated doves and chickens like other magicians did billiard balls.
With his three children, he presented an act of magic, illusions and singing and dancing as the "European Mystifiers."
Around 1916 he entered the mail order business selling tricks and books.
His son, Clifford P. Kirkpatrick (1893-c.1967), became a police office and performed as "Fort Wayne's cop magician" in Indiana.[2]
La Delle's unpublished autobiography "Memories of an Old Circus Trouper" was completed, with additional historical research, by his granddaughter Eleanor Swift.[3]
