Harry Whiteley (1875-1945) was the manager of the Manchester Conjuring Trick Works and ran a circulating library for magicians.[1]

Biography

He hosted a congregation for conjurers each Sunday evening which became known as "Whiteley's Varieties".

Whiteley contributed to the Sphinx as a correspondent under the column "English Notes" from 1904 to 1907.

He was said to be good at sleight-of-hand, performed occasionally and claimed to be the inventor of the back and front continuous palm, which has never been proven.[2]
