Herbert W. Fischer (1903-1948) was a prominent Omaha Attorney who served as president of the Omaha Magical Society (assembly No. 7 of the Society of American Magicians) from 1932- 1944.
Biography
Also a member of the I.B.M., he had a magic room in his home decorated in Egyptian decor which was frequent used for magic meetings. [1]
He died in an auto accident when on his way home from a show with his wife in Charter Oak, Iowa. They went over an embankment during a dense fog. His wife survived, but he died the next morning at the Shenandoah hospital.[2][3]
Honors
In 1956, the assembly began awarding the "Herbert Fischer Memorial" trophy at competitions.[4]
