Marlene Dietrich (December 27 1901–May 6 1992) was a German-born American actress, singer and film star. She is considered to be the first German actress to flourish in Hollywood.
Dietrich performed as an assistant to Orson Welles allowing him to saw her in half on his Mercury Wonder Show magic act.
