Professor Anderton (c.1851-1909) was the stage name of fair ground magician Albert A. Haslam.[1]

Biography

Anderton perfromed sleight-of-hand at English fairs until l890 when he left magic to became a circus worker and later a movie exhibitor.[2]

In 1909, Anderton accidentally fell into the River Sid, where his Fair was camped at, while checking the site. His cries went unheard and he drowned.[3]
