Hi (or Hy) Harris (c.1900-1950) was a popular magician in the 1930s-1940s operating tent shows through Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Northwest.[1]

Biography

Harris was a versatile performer who could play various musical instruments as well as do magic, mental and hypnotic acts, and occasionally did dramatic parts in his show.

He won the Sphinx Award in 1938 for the best effect submitted to the Sphinx by a professional.

In the late 1940s, he was playing halls in Montana.

Harris died at the home of Doc Mahendra in San Antonio the day before Christmas of uremia poisoning (A toxic condition resulting from kidney disease).[2]
